Joe Jackson has traveled the world to record "Fast Forward", his first solo album after seven years. Originally intended to be released as a series of EPs, the disc has four sessions of four songs, recorded in four different cities: New York, New Orleans, Berlin and Amsterdam. The result is one of the richest and most rewarding artistic compositions of his legendary career.
The New Yorker session was recorded with Bill Frisell on guitar, Brian Blade on drums, his bassist Graham Maby, and the star of jazz Regina Carter on violin. Recordings of Amsterdam are distinguished by the diversity of the instruments used. Among the collaborators: Stefan Kruger and Stefan Schmid and "The Concertgebouw Orchestra". In Berlin, according to Jackson's home, he has recorded with Greg Cohen (already collaborator of Tom Waits and Dylan) and Earl Harvin. In New Orleans finally recorded with local musicians including Stanton Moore of Galactic, Robert Mercurio, Jeff Raines and Donald Harrison.
