From The Setting Sun... (In Wacken)
The "Wacken Open Air" has over the years become the most important European metal festivals. It is said that there are no headliner at Wacken, the festival itself is the headliner. This is the feeling I have also tried the Deep Purple when they took the stage. The band felt pressure to show up in front of 90 thousand people, metal fans, but answered to their great music. For the first time in many years the band has felt to conquer new audiences as they did at the beginning of their career. The result is a unique concert: Deep Purple performed with raw energy, coming from the classical patterns of their behavior on stage, out of their "safe zone". This show provides a sense of ease and power comparable to that of the golden years of the band.
