Pat Metheny

Patrick Bruce Metheny (Lee's Summit, August 12, 1954) is an American guitarist. Among the most famous and popular jazz guitarists in activity is the founder and leader of the Pat Metheny Group.

Soon he becomes an instructor at the University of Miami and at Boston's Berklee College of Music, thanks to the famous vibraphonist Gary Burton. From the first album of 1975 (Bright Size Life with Jaco Pastorius), today Pat Metheny has had a growing consensus both from critics, but also by the public, even when it has developed new experiences going even free jazz with Ornette Coleman. His musical production is spread over several parallel tracks: the Pat Metheny Group, works soloists, duets and other investments. Metheny has won 3 gold records and 20 Grammy Awards.
